Bringing People Together Through Plants: Community Workshops Across DFW

Attendees participate in a terrarium workshop led by Lauren and Plants at a community event hosted by Play Frisco.

A few weeks ago, I had the opportunity to partner with Play Frisco to host a terrarium workshop for their community.

One of my favorite parts of owning Lauren and Plants is seeing how plants bring people together. Whether it's a group of friends, coworkers, neighbors, or complete strangers, there's something special about slowing down and creating something with your hands.

At the Play Frisco workshop, participants built their own terrariums while learning about plant care, design, and the simple joy of working with living things.

Why Plant Workshops Matter

In a world where so much of our time is spent on screens, plant workshops offer an opportunity to:

  • Connect with others

  • Learn a new skill

  • Express creativity

  • Reduce stress

  • Bring a little more nature into everyday life

The best part? Everyone leaves with something they created themselves.

Workshops for Cities, Communities, and Organizations

I love partnering with cities, recreation departments, libraries, community groups, and local organizations throughout DFW.

Workshops can be customized for:

  • Terrariums

  • Houseplant education

  • Seasonal planting projects

  • Team-building events

  • Community programs

  • Private groups

Whether you're planning a community event or looking for a unique activity for your organization, plant workshops are an engaging way to bring people together.

Bring a Plant Workshop to Your Community

One of my favorite things about this work is creating opportunities for people to connect, learn, and get their hands in the dirt.

If you're part of a city, library, recreation department, nonprofit organization, school, community group, or local business, I'd love to explore bringing a plant workshop to your space.

Workshops can be customized for your audience and are designed to be approachable for both plant lovers and complete beginners.
