Terrarium Workshops in DFW: A Hands-On Plant Experience
There is something really special about watching someone build their first terrarium.
At the beginning of each workshop, there is usually a little hesitation. People will say things like “I’m not good with plants” or “I have a black thumb.” But by the end, they are holding something they created themselves, and you can see the shift. They feel proud. They feel connected. And most of all, they feel capable.
That is my favorite part of what I do.
What to Expect at a Terrarium Workshop
Over the past nine months, I have hosted terrarium workshops across the DFW area, including in Irving and Frisco. Each workshop is designed to feel approachable, creative, and relaxed.
During the workshop, I guide you step by step through building a closed terrarium using a layered substrate system. There is no traditional potting soil involved. Each layer plays an important role in supporting long-term plant health.
Whether you are brand new to plants or already have a collection at home, the process is simple and easy to follow.
A Focus on Begonias and Terrarium Plants
One of the things that makes these workshops unique is the plant selection.
We focus on plants that thrive in closed environments, especially begonias and other terrarium-friendly varieties. These plants love humidity and do incredibly well in the conditions we create together.
The goal is not just to build something beautiful in the moment, but to create something that continues to thrive long after you take it home.
Every Terrarium is Unique
No two terrariums ever turn out the same.
Even when using similar materials, each person brings their own creativity into the design. Some lean more minimal, while others create something full and layered.
That is part of what makes the experience so special. It is personal, creative, and completely your own.
A Relaxed and Creative Experience
Workshops are meant to feel like a break from the usual pace of life.
Whether you come with friends, plan it as a date, or show up on your own, it is a space where you can slow down, learn something new, and enjoy the process of creating.
You do not need any prior experience. Just show up and I will guide you through the rest.
